Join us for a very special visit from America's oldest museum! Led by a professional museum educator from The Charleston Museum, we'll dig into history together!
Learn all about Dave Drake, a formerly enslaved potter who created thousands of jars during his life, but his jars were much more than just storage vessels. Dave wrote poetry on the pieces he created--a dangerous crime for an enslaved person. Learn about the skills Dave had to create large pottery pieces, hear examples of his poems, and create your own pinch pot or coil pot.
