Join Clemson Extension Master Gardener Lisa Turocy for a hands-on class in celebration of World Bee Day!

This class will focus on the importance of bees in our ecosystem, different types of bees (native bees and honeybees), bee anatomy, the bee life cycle, and what you can do to help our bees. We will also create a special bee house for you to take home and hang up in your own yard/garden. After class, we will walk around the garden to see if we can put our new bee ID skills to the test! Please be sure to bring pencil and paper if you would like to take notes.

Please note: Closed toe shoes are required for all garden visitors.

While we love our gardening friends of all ages, attendance for this class is limited to children in kindergarten-5th grade. A chaperone must be present during class time. Due to limited space, we kindly ask unregistered children do not attend with registered siblings.

Participants should possess age-appropriate social and emotional skills, be comfortable outdoors for long periods of time, and should be able to stay focused during hour-long learning sessions and hands-on activities with varying degrees of assistance and guidance.

A minimum of 5 registrants is required for this program to run.
